Harness for Body-Worn Processors Hi, my name is Gina, and I am the mother of two (2) girls with cochlear implants. Adriana (7 years old) received the N24 in 1/99 and Giovanna (3 ¾ years old) received the N24 Contour in 7/01. (Geneticists are puzzled as to why both of my children are deaf – they are assuming that my husband and I have a recessive gene!) I was disappointed with what the company sent as harnesses for their new body worn processors, so I started to sew all of my daughter's “harnesses”. (See attached pictures). The harness fits like a “vest/bra”. It fits snugly around the body so that there is no movement. It opens and closes in the front with a piece of Velcro (above the waist, but below the nipple line) and I make the pocket (pouch) to fit the harness on whatever side your child has been implanted. The harness is worn around the body under clothes so that no one sees anything. It does not affect their backs or tummy area (especially if they wear shorts, pants, skirts…) I have been making them for our “implanted children friends” at the University of Miami for $25. If you are interested, please send me an e-mail at gmaser@bellsouth.net or feel free to contact me at (305) 665-0497. Please have the following information regarding your child's measurements. You will not regret it!
